
Project "Gender equality programe in the city Zlaté Moravce"
Project objective
Project objective is to support the employment growth of social marginalized women and empower integrated cooperation system of all stakeholders with impact on labour market in town Zlaté Moravce (municipality, social partners, private sector, other nongovernmental organization etc.) and create space for taking away barriers in approaching labour market. Also the other project objective is to raise awareness about the gender equality topic and social corporate responsibility strategy in representatives of all stakeholders and civic public.
Target group
· women with family responsibilities, after the parent leave, also women who look after older people and women who are threatened by domestic violence,
· representatives od municipality, state sector, private sector, other nongovernmental organizations.
Main leader of the project
Municipality Zlaté Moravce, which on the basis of social services analyse discovered, that it is one of the town in Nitra municipality region, in which miss social services organization aimed at solutions for unemployment with family responsibilities. Therefore the municipality decided to analyze conditions on labour market in term of equal opportunities for women and men and on the results basis to create information point for this target group.
Number of unemployment in region was 2683 people on 31.12.2006. From the number of unemployment 2683 is 1395 women, from which is 4,58% of women after the maternity leave.
Project partner
National center for equal opportunities, which has experiences with gender equality topic and social corporate responsibility strategy as well experiences with seeking solutions with using of potential of all stakeholders with impact on labour market.

Project Activities
· to inform public about the project and conduct discussion forum with public aimed at questions of gender equality and domestic violence,
· carrying out survey labour market trough regional development plan analyze and questionnaires from stakeholders (municipality, businesses, Work, social affaires and family Agency etc.),
· seminar for project participants aimed at presentation of survey results and information about asserting gender equality a social corporate responsibility employers,
· workshops with representatives all stakeholders involved in project, which objective is to seeking possible fields of cooperation,
· elaboration of development strategy of work opportunities together with draft of specifically aimed courses and elaboration of conception integrated cooperation in creating of servisec network for abused women,
· training for employees state and public sector aimed at system of integrated cooperation with aim to help women who are threatened by domestic violence,
· closing conference about the project,
· project presentation in media.
Outputs/results
Trough discussions with citizen about gender equality we tried to break the taboo and access this topic to public. Despite distrust at the beginning, we think, that we succeed in breaking it and that we arise interest about possibilities, how to use social services in town meaningfull for different groups of citizens.
We carried out analyze of labour market and regional development plan of work possibilities. The dominant sectors in region are manufacturing industry, building industry, agriculture, in which is dominant seasonal employment. From structure work possibilities for women and men analyze we can see discrepancy, because predominate jobs more suitable for men. It results to more concurrence between women and it means that in disadvantage are women with family responsibilities, which employers don’t want to employ. Surveys between employers showed that, due to economic pressure don’t have possibilities to create suitable work conditions for women with family responsibilities. They have indeed elaborate social program for their employees, but nothing special for women and men with family responsibilities. Survey between unemployed women shoved, that the one of the most mentioned barrier in seeking and up keeping job are family responsibilities especially looking after for children.
Proposed recommendations for municipality Zlaté Moravce:
· system of partnership between state, public and private sector, other nongovernmental organizations to seek corporate solutions, this can have forms single shot, short term or long term programme of cooperation,
· courses of additional education for social disadvantaged women aimed at new skills for sectors, which predominate in region and prepare psychological support training for women on parent leave or after parent leave to increase motivation for addinational education and seeking the job,
· to develop sector of small and medium businesses, agriculture and tourist trade in region,
· discussions and trainings for private sectors in realizing corporate social responsibility strategies in their businesses, talk about benefits.
We prepared also information materials about gender equality topic, social corporate responsibility topic, proposal strategy integrated cooperation system in town.
